SNM Horror, both a print and electronic magazine, has put out a call for their July Jealousy issue.  They want horror stories that cater one of the deadly seven: envy, jealousy, control, and possessiveness.  You know, that stuff we all feel and most of us never want to?  The deadline is June 20th, 2011 and they are an occasionally paying market.  Check their site for details.  They want poetry up to 32 lines or short stories of 2,000 to 5,000 words.  Did I mention that they’ll take erotica?  Hmmm?  Wink wink.  The only thing they’re not interested in is “extreme” horror.  Not sure how you gauge that, but they may have a better description on their site.  Good luck!

May December Publications is putting together  a monster anthology.  They’re calling it Midnight Movie: Creature Feature Anthology and they want short stories and novelettes from 3,000 to 10,000 words.  These folks seem to be pretty regular anthology producers, although they aren’t a paying market (like RuneWright is even though they’re tiny).  The deadline is June 1st, so break out your big, bad monster tales and get them in there!  I plan on getting “Vessels of Abaddon” in to these guys.  Seems a perfect fit.

The Library of the Living Dead Press, you know, that all black website with the yellow text (the one that’s hard to read)… well they’ve put out a call out for a 12-story Hellology they’re putting together.  They want stories that treat with the devil in some fashion.  Not a devil, not some devil, but The Devil… as in the Prince of Darkness, Beelzebub, Lucifer, Abaddon, Satan himself.  They’re paying a penny word (hey, that’s what Dickens got paid) as well as a contributor’s copy, and they deadline is May 26th, 2011.  Stories should be  between 4,000 and 7,000 words in length, and they have a few submission guidelines, so check out the links below and know what you’re doing.
